An update on the CSM8 votOmat.
The CSM8 PreElection is ending on April 2nd and the final ballot for the election proper will be announced this week. The votOmat is still being improved in order to deliver concise information on the candidates. Candidates will be able to submit and edit their information until the final voting starts. According to the CCP schedule this should happen on the 3rd of April.
An important mission for votOmat is to provide voters the possibility to compare the candidates’ platforms to their very own play style, the wishes and ideas they have for the future of the game and their preferences on how they want to be represented. I have written about the concept and details of the implementation in a previous post. The latest update of votOmat now allows for a detailed customisation of the questionnaire.
It is possible to specify which questions are of particular importance to you. These will be double-weighted in the calculation of the candidate ranking. Questions which are irrelevant for a voter can be skipped from the ranking. Note that in the results table the skipped questions and the candidates’ answers will still be visible, but they don’t enter the ranking calculation anymore.
Weighted and skipped statements are indicated in the table. We have also added a legend to the results page, which explains the meaning of the color code used in the table.
While we finish the data gathering you can try out our demo campaign. If you like the tool please spread the word! Ask your local candidate whether he or she has already submitted data and distribute the votOmat link to your peers in game.
Fly smart! Chira.
